Designer Jacky Al-Samarraie moved to Yorkshire over thirty years ago, studying at Bradford College of Design, Art and Textiles where David Hockney also graduated. She came to art later in life – discovering and developing her creative talent whilst raising her young children. The Art Rooms in West Yorkshire’s historic art hub Saltaire came to be in 2013 – and since then Jacky has expanded her range and introduced a host of new designs, with her artwork loved and sold all over the world.

Jacky works closely with manufacturers, ensuring that only high-quality, sustainably sourced materials are used. The link between the influence of nature and the focus on organic components is not coincidental – in fact it is a further reflection of artist Jacky’s huge respect for rural environments and the Great British countryside, and the inspiration she finds there. The collections feature a variety of responsibly produced raw materials including recycled cotton yarn and natural cork.
